AI runs much of the administration because it’s faster and cheaper.

At school, AI tutors have replaced teachers. Even the principal is artificial intelligence.

Children come home and play with AI robot companions instead of each other.

Traditional knowledge is available through an AI Elder 24 hours a day.

Everything is efficient. Everything is convenient.

But the people aren’t thriving.

Fewer human skills are needed. Fewer people are needed. Relationships weaken. Dependence grows. The community becomes increasingly shaped by technologies it didn’t create and systems it doesn’t control.

Nobody deliberately chose this future.

Each step simply promised to be faster, cheaper and more convenient.

Through humour, powerful visuals, real-world examples, live demonstrations and audience participation, we explore AI, smartphones, algorithms, social media, smart devices, data collection, automation and the changing relationship between humans and machines.

Bluetooth Kitty helps us laugh at some of the strange things we’ve come to accept as completely normal.

MEET DIETER BRAUN

AUTHOR • EDUCATOR • RESEARCHER • DRUM CARRIER

For more than 23 years, Dieter Braun has been educating the public about emerging ideas, overlooked issues and changes taking place in our world—often before they become part of the broader public conversation.

His work asks a simple question:

How do we prepare people for a world that is changing faster than our understanding of it?

Dieter is the author of Homo Sapien Got Hacked!, which explores technology, human behaviour and our changing relationship with machines.

He also holds a Bachelor of Science and an MBA, bringing together research, education, business experience and a lifelong curiosity about where society is heading.

As a drum carrier, Dieter brings another perspective to the conversation:
